Interview by Grymyrk Answers by Nordavinden Nordavinden, rest a moment between battles and glorious conquests, sheath the mighty bloodstained warhammer Mjolnir, and join me at the hearth in the hall of Bilskirnir where we will drink mead and you shall recount the Saga of Bloodaxe. In the Beginning there was nothing but the endless chasm Ginnungagap. How did the forces of Nifelheim and Muspelheim combine to create the entity of chaos and black metal savagery that became known as Bloodaxe? When was Bloodaxe first forged? What meaning lies in the name. I believe I came up with Bloodaxe sometime in '99, on the tail end of some serious criminal charges. I was
under surveillance, couldn't have in my possession any firearms, explosives, and couldn't really leave the fucking house, because
of constant harassment from the police. I had been part of previous projects but they were always a joke, so I decided to pay
tribute to my heritage and ODIN in an honest fashion. I knew living in Northern Ontario I would never find musicians to complete
a full line up so I primarily set it forth as a one-man project. Name the berserkrs that first formed the Einherjar of Bloodaxe, who have fallen in battle, who now remain, and what weapons of battle did each wield for the honor and victory of Bloodaxe? The original drummer planned for Bloodaxe was Cu Chulainn, he received a few tapes with some material but turned out he was just as fuckin' lazy as all others I have had the displeasure of coming into contact with. Rati took over and the permanent line up came about on May 17th 00. Describe your Nordmenn lineage and the effect of the landscapes of your ancestor's homeland upon it. I am Norwegian on all sides of my family; my father's side has been traced back for close to a thousand years.
From the Sør - Trøndelag area, which is in middle Norway. The other side comes from the Østfold area in the south. The blood
has been in this new land about 50 years or so. We have remained pure Norske through the short time we have been in Vinland.
Survival. Plain and simple. How has the spirit and strength of your forefathers been revealed through the works of ferocity and bloodlust that has been hewn by Bloodaxe to this point? Put the Bloodthrone album on and tell me you don't feel the FUCKING RAGE!!!! Tell me YOU don't feel my fucking hands around your throat when you listen to "The Thirsting"!!!!!! What circumstances led to the casting of the futharks entitled "In Battle" (2000). Describe the casting, forging and quenching of this warhammer. Upon what enemies and battles was this first epic of Bloodaxe unleashed? Hatred for the pathetic faggots that call themselves "musicians" in this brown-eyed town that I now live (die) in. All these clowns care about is production. "Yeah, you're production is fucking great, real clear, so clear I can hear all the fucking mistakes the faggot guitar player is making, how off time the drummer is… I put out a limited demo with great fucking music, but with a terrible production, just to see who would look at the music and who would focus on nothing but Production. It worked. Hatred for the half - breeds and the faggots that believe they are Black Metal!! Black Metal played in Multi - Cultural centers? A CRUSADE FOR ODIN!!!! Odin is the GOD of the TRUE NORTHMAN!!!! To awaken the pride of the Germanic peoples of this country and open their eyes to the TRUTH!!!! State the battle plans of this first collection of war hymns. What did the eddas speak about and how were they interwoven with the strains of frostbitten black metal to reflect the philosophical, spiritual and physical states of being that possessed Bloodaxe at this time? Recite a few stanzas of one of these epic eddas that fully represents the Viking War Spirit of this first Saga. The sagas for In Battle were forged in about 2 or 3 weeks, recorded in a few hours. Total HATRED was the
general feeling. At the time I had just been convicted and put on 5 years of probation because of a small misunderstanding…
haha. They wanted to put me away in a penitentiary but society lost!! The True Viking War Spirit was again loosed upon the world in 2001's "Bloodthrone". What differences lay between the first Saga "In Battle" and this one? Lay waste to myth with the bright blade of reality and tell the tale of the forging of this Sleipnir of Viking black metal. Bloodthrone was conceived mostly while I was in Norway in the year of 01. Most sagas were inspired by certain feelings and things that I experienced while I was there. It was all written in the month of November. A better production on Bloodthrone then In Battle, because we recorded it ourselves. However, it still remains TOO EXTREME and chaotic for most!! Bloodthrone was a better album because we had been together for about 7 months as opposed to the 3 weeks we had been together for "In Battle". The cover art has received some strange comments, being a manipulation of a German War Medal. A certain "zine" in Belgium (using the same name as US) commented that it was "very un - professional"!!! Dig deep, down to the roots of Yggdrassil and lay bare the inspirations and thoughts that lie buried beneath the Hatred of the cold black metal that is exhibited. What tales do the epic eddas of "Bloodthrone" tell? Again, recite a few lines from one of these Viking cloaked war-chants and enlighten the hordes as to how it captures the pure audial and philosophical essence of this second weapon of Bloodaxe's fury. "Within the Walls of Eljudnir" speaks of the torment of a man who did not die with pride. Eljudnir is the hall of Hell in Norse Mythology. Some sagas of Bloodthrone use titles from the mythology but again I interpret them differently, and add more chaos and torment to them. "Morgendis" in English means morning dew or haze. I wrote that in my head while sitting with a friend by the shore of a river in Sarpsborg. "1030"was the year that Norway became a Christian country. "The Thirsting" is about trying to control the violence within me. "Treskjæreren" in English means The Wood Carver. "Drowning in Mimirs' Well" is about the destruction of mankind by the knowledge we have obtained. Mimirs' Well is the well of Wisdom. "Old one in the Ironwood" is a tale of the giantess "Angrboda". "Runemaster" is of course a tale of Odin. "Trondskogen" is an area in a small town in Berkåk. "W.O.T.A.N"… well you would have to be a fucking idiot to not know what that is about!! Served on a silver plate for the one - eyed God!! Other Fyrd such as Otyg, Einherjer, Enslaved, Finntroll, and Thundra seek to wear the battle helm of Viking metal. How does the Jotun Bloodaxe view these other branches of Viking thought and music? These bands you speak of I have no fucking interest in. All that matters is Bloodaxe!! New BLOOD always claims the THRONE!!!! With a new battle looming, Bloodaxe has returned to DeathHammer Studio to forge its third mighty weapon entitled "Raping the Ancient". What new vision has guided this latest and most terrible of Bloodaxe's battle plans? What may the cowering hordes expect from this remaking of Ragnarok? The vision has and always will remain the same… Total fucking annihilation and hatred mixed with pride and honesty. Expect to be kicked in the fuckin' head one thousand times!! "Raping the Ancient" will also feature the artwork of Leilah Wendell of the Westgate Necromantic. She has done artwork for various bands including Cathedral. As well she is the author of many great Occult books including "The Necromantic Ritual Book". Draw the battle worn and bright Axe of truth across the throat of the enemy before you, and give the hordes a taste of the eddas and themes that they embrace from the blood that is spilt upon the mighty Mjolnir. "Raping the Ancient" will be given with RESPECT to the forefathers. It's funny how pathetic conquered peoples bitch about how the white man digs up their ancestral past, but it's all right to dig up the Northern peoples past. Burial mounds are sacred they should remain untouched. While I was traveling on the coast of Trøndelag near a small town called Bud, I saw one of the oldest Burial mounds in Norway. It was then that I came up with this concept of "Raping the Ancient"! Some titles are as follows: Haunting the Ruins, Superior Winds, The Burning Season, Seven Chains to Suffer, Drifting of Ull, DeathHammer SS, Threshold of the Unseen, Rennebu, Thirteen Oars of Misfortune, Averøya, Witches of November, probably a few more. Shooting for 13 tracks to be released on Friday the 13th of September 02. From the bloodlusted visage of the berserkr, expand upon these
topics in true Viking manner: I have never really had any interest in any "philosophy," all a philosophy is, is a dead man's theory and I never take a dead man's words to heart, but in one Saga a Warrior was asked what gods he believed in. He replied that he didn't believe in any gods that he only believed in himself!!!!!!! I am my own GOD! · How these tenets are exhibited by Bloodaxe in word, action, thought and life: Again, It's easy and cowardly for a man to hold reverence and believe in what other men tell him to have faith in but the hardest thing in life is for a man to have is belief in himself. The only opinion that ever mattered to me is my own. · How the venom and misanthropy of black metal is suited to the Viking way, as compared to flutes and other folkish instrumentation: Men with the blood still running in their veins could never hear a fuckin' flute and think of the old ways!!! A lot might argue the facts of when and where this so called Black Metal evolved from but the fact remains Norwegians where the ones who did the most with it, the most supreme bands came from the Land of the Midnight Sun, and so did the most supreme VIKINGS. Vikings didn't die off, they weren't some fuckin' different race of people they (we) just became extremists to rape and plunder in a different fashion. The BLOOD still runs. When you think of Norway you think of Vikings and Black Metal, they are a perfect match. When I hear some of this supposed Viking Metal, I don't visualize crazed men with long hair and beards with fire in their eyes coming off of a Longship, I just see a bunch of businessmen coming off a fucking yatch!!!!! · The similarities and differences between the Viking way of life and Paganism: You could say that Paganism and Asatru are similar because of their ritualistic properties, and their nature influence. I still do not believe the Vikings worshipped their Gods in the way other cultures did (do) they simply looked to them for guidance. Vikings were fueled by greed. Greed for new land and easy riches. · The relevance to black metal of: Satanism used to be relevant, but not so much anymore. Satanism is very childish, meant to shock, but now comes across as nothing but immature. Satan is a Jewish creation, and is just as fucking weak as Christianity. Children believe in the devil... Men believe in themselves!! Eyes are opening! Paganism: Paganism and Asatru are becoming more important to us as individuals, men who can think on their own. Odinism is becoming more relevant!!!! National Socialism: National Socialism is one of the most important facets of Black Metal. Black Metal is not only for Aryan people, it can only be forged by the Aryan people!! War: Black Metal IS WAR!!!!!!!!!!! · The battle against the plague of christianity, what step are to be taken to finally see the end of it: As the Bloodthrone booklet states: "The burning of churches is no longer accepted… Explosives are the future!!! In the past it never really bothered me that a "man" would worship a dead jew tacked to a 6 by 9, but when these plague - ridden, sub - humans come to my fucking door with their glassy eyed lies, wanting to speak of the great dead jew, then the REAL fucking WAR begins!! The first church to go down around here was in 1987. It wasn't done to sell product or spread propaganda, just done out of shear fucking hatred, because men are sick and fucking tired of having a fucking jewish religion shoved down their throats. Some will say they just need to be educated, then they will see the true mankind, but I disagree. Look into the eyes of these religious baseheads and tell me what you see? Nothing. Emptiness. A counterfeit faith that brings nothing but paranoia and hope that there is something better when you're dead. They all need to be fucking destroyed, every fucking one of them as well as all their Jewish whorehouses they call churches. · The influence and inspiration you draw from your forefathers land of Norway, and the land of your own birth, Vinland: My forefathers still live in me, they speak through me. Their blood has been passed onto me. I have more family and more friends in Norge then I do in the land of my own birth. The mountains speak in Norway. Here the land has an almost empty, sorrowful feeling, the land is so fucking big, and the sky is fucking huge. Isolation breed's insanity, the woods here speak no names….yet. This country is starting to mean less and less to me each and every fucking day. It's run by the Conquered peoples!!!!! Minority rules?!!? Fucking Country caters to the WEAK!!!!! Pathetic!!!! · The Viking Aesir you most identify with, and the reasons for it: ODIN. One EYE still sees clearer then the two of a dead jew. · The passage from The Havamal that most sums up your own approach to life and why: The Hávamál was originally written in the language of my forefathers OLD NORSE. Translated into English it
looses its rhythm. For the sake of those who can't understand Old Norse, the stanza would have to be: · What part of Viking life you would have enjoyed most had you been living back then: First off, any man who believes he would have been better off living in a different time or era should just put a fucking bullet in his head. All that matters is NOW!! But obviously considering all my criminal charges, the freedom to kill and or beat a man without having to SUFFER the consequences of Jewish society. · What lies beyond the gates of death: For the Nordic warrior, the halls of Valhalla, beautiful Nordic women and lots of drink!! · The Viking view of the destiny of mankind: Scandinavians will rule the fucking WORLD... again!! When will the Viking beserkrs of Bloodaxe board their longships to perform raids within Vinland and upon the shores of the distant lands where Vikings once laid claim to all that they could plunder? Were not "performers' or "entertainers" we are Extremists!!!!!! A live campaign has never seriously been considered, all tour proposals have been turned down. I do however have a blueprint for a certain event that only the elite will take part in. How does Bloodaxe plan to create within the halls it raids the atmosphere and icy savagery of its Sagas? Time will tell. Look into the Well of Mirmir and tell of the future of Bloodaxe, it's plans, it's battles, it's destiny. Bloodaxe will destroy all that stands in its way. Fuck destiny. Born into violence to die in violence. What heroes and legions does Bloodaxe swear blood-oath to and fight side by side in the ongoing campaign? We where born into Isolation and solitude, we stand-alone as we have from the beginning. We have always fought alone without anyone by our side. We are the Lone fucking Wolf. Heroes are for children; the "Arctic Circle" will rise and destroy!!!! Bloodaxe, Operation Winter Mist and others will prove that the TRUE NORTH is STRONG and FREE. Free of WEAKNESS!!!! The Force of the True North will conquer. If Bloodaxe commanded the might and berserkr rage of the Einherjar, what would you raid, plunder and destroy? The rage has already been harnessed. Events will take place on a wide scale basis. How can the Einherjar of Bloodaxe be contacted? Viking Squad SS Thank you for submitting to this interrogation Nordavinden. Any last threats, hails or commands to your enemies, comrades and the hordes worldwide? Slaughterfucking salutes to Operation Winter Mist, Disciples of Power, Megiddo. Death to the TREND PATH FAGGOTS. I am the SHADOW on you're shoulder!!!! THE HUNT IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!! |
